Starting out at a young age appearing in amateur dramatic musicals, Oliver was invited to audition for The National Youth Music Theatre. It was from here, after appearing in shows at the Edinburgh Festival, and studying musical theatre and drama, that he began to take an interest in writing rather than performing.
Starting with a rewritten story based around, and using, the songs of Pink Floyd’s The Wall, Oliver was quickly granted permission from Pink Floyd Music Publishers and developed a stage show which was staged by various amateur dramatic companies.
Over time Oliver has continued to develop shows based around, and using, the music and lyrics of artists as diverse as Chris De Burgh to Duran Duran.
Currently Oliver has a new musical in development entitled “The Trick To Life” which uses the songs and music of hit British band The Hoosiers. Working with the band Oliver has created an exciting jukebox style musical which is quickly gathering the attention of the theatre industry.
With more projects about to go into development Oliver is always interested in hearing from bands and solo artists who are looking to have their songs and music developed into a stage show or incorporated into a short play.
